So wow, busy busy busy.
Item the first part: if you’re into comics or related media, and you live anywhere near the Midwest, and you can get to Chicago, I have it on good authority that C2E2 is going to be a blast. I intend to spend a significant part of the weekend there, and I’m looking forward to Saturday night especially for the aforementioned reason (yes I have a ticket for the dinner, and yes I’m waaay too excited about it).
Secondly, Dallas was nice except actually I was in Irving, Texas, where there is nothing whatsoever to do. I was there for work, for a week, and honestly was pretty exhausted at the end of every day anyway. But still.
Third, I’m planning on accepting some freelance/commission work in the very near future. This is kind of a thing, because it means reallocating my already closely-managed time. More importantly, it means getting my art chops back up to speed after spending most of my free time learning how to do comics over the last year-plus. So I’ve been brainstorming ideas for some art exercises and portfolio pieces. Also, some self-promotional stuff. If you have any thoughts on the matter, feel free to let me know.
Fourth, a big congrats to my friends Shawna and Dan, who will be gettin’ hitched this coming weekend in the vicinity of Kansas City. Also I’d like to thank them for giving me an opportunity to drive over ten hours each way and miss out on Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities extravaganza. In exchange I get to be in their wedding…and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Seriously, guys, congratulations, and I’m honored to be included. This is gonna be awesome.
Fifth, I am learning the value of quiet and boredom. After the wedding I don’t have anything scheduled until mid-April. This, also, is awesome.
