Named for the large, winglike shank fins on its hind legs, the Hermes’ stormlifter is a powerful runner and capable of tremendous leaps. Like most stormlifters, it is a weak long-distance flier that prefers to ride the heavy air currents of storm fronts and other inclement weather when traveling. Unlike its relatives, it is a smaller species, rarely exceeding twenty stone.
The Hermes’ stormlifter possesses a distinctly upturned lower mandible which is used to aid in the capture of the wyrm’s favorite food: large river fish. The creature’s small, agile foreclaws are used for fine manipulation and for snaring smaller prey, such as large shellfish.
