The tatzelwurm is a vaguely snaky dragon, hailing from the more mountainous areas of European folklore. This rather goofy-looking illustration is influenced by art from a Time-Life book on dragons that I read over and over again as a child – possibly my most frequently checked out library book between grades 7 and 9. Did you know [...] Another piece generated in Alchemy, with one (just one) color added in Photoshop. This will probably be a watercolor by the time I’m done. For now, pencils on watercolor paper. So I can’t even make something up about this one with a straight face. Today’s dragon is influenced by a friend’s facial piercing and my own intense case of sleep deprivation. The composition is totally boned and by the way I’m going to bed as soon as possible. The creature has precise buoyancy control and floats just inches beneath the surface of murky ponds and slow-moving waterways.
