Another diptych, two more tiny watercolor-and-pencil pieces. I was thinking of goblins and things that go bump in the night – I think these two fit the bill nicely.
This has been a terribly long summer, and I must admit I’m looking forward to the fall.

Diptych I: “Lovebirds”
Still having fun with the corner rounder. I thought I’d try my hand at a diptych pair – two pieces of art, designed to stand alone or to be viewed as a set. These comprise a tiny pair of watercolors, painted over pencil.
Bullroarers are heavy-bodied New World draconiformes, flightless but adept swimmers. The maned bullroarer is specially adapted for shallow, murky waters where its many sensory quills provide it with a detailed map of its surroundings.
Ink applied with brush and dip pen, then watercolors. This piece is small, about 3 inches by 5-1/2 inches, on Bristol board.
