Small, quick, and fun. They’re adorable when they’re asleep. 2B pencil on bristol board, about the size of a playing card. I started off with giraffes in mind, then considered the praying mantis, then drifted into stork territory. Then I made dinner, and got on with things. Markers on sketch paper. A little bit of wyvern, a little bit of chameleon, a little ink, and voila! Ugly. I’ve definitely settled into a kind of look for my marker-on-paper lineart. The Stronsay Beast was a peculiar six-limbed carcass washed up on the beach near the town of Stronsay some time ago. Nobody ever really figured out what the cryptid must have looked like in life – but we know, don’t we? Drawn digitally. Graphite – partially sketch n’ wash pencil with water – on bristol. |
