Act One: Red, pg 8 (temporary)

Okay, so the new inking techniques aren’t working for me - so much so that I’ve resorted to inks that are kind of slapdash but at least acceptable compared to what I ended up with earlier today. I may resort to posting the (IMHO nicer-looking) final bluelines plus dialogue for a bit while I embark on what will probably end up becoming The Great Inking Quest. This weekend I’ll be trying out a workflow based around digital sketches and inking with a real pen on real paper, then scanning the result in. I know it works for some other artists so it’s worth a shot. If nothing seems to *click* in my head then I’ll be stuck picking a workflow I like and just practicing my ass off for awhile at inking. We’ll see how it goes. Wish me luck.

P.S. If this weekend’s experiment goes poorly, expect a sudden flurry of updates and a faster update schedule for awhile - it’s faster for me to sketch pages in detail than to ink even one panel to my own liking, so I can keep things going quickly if I resort to the fallback plan. Hmmmmm…..
