So I can finally share some news, ’cause it’s definite. In about two weeks I’ll be moving to Chicago.

That’s it.

I know that probably sounds anti-climactic, but it’s a really huge step for me personally. I’ve been in central Missouri (with brief stays in Saint Louis) for all of my life since middle school, and this will be the biggest change of pace for me since heading off to college. I’m both elated and terrified. New city, new job market, new housing, new school system to navigate on behalf of my daughter…wow.

At the moment I’m planning on taking the week of the 24th off…Thanksgiving is that week, and it’s also the really hectic week during which I’ll perform final wrap-up at work, pack my stuff up, and drive the eight hours or so from here to Chicago. Have I mentioned that Thanksgiving is also that week?

The only other concern I have is that I may not have internet access to my main terminal immediately, so there’s a real possibility that the comic will go on accidental hiatus for the first two weeks or so of December while I get things figured out. I’m trying to have some advance work done to avoid this, but the next weeks will be extremely hectic - capping off a really crazy year, actually.

Oh - this week’s update will be up tomorrow night. I’m seriously considering changing the official update day to “Friday” just to deal with this tendency of mine.
