Further news and…a brief hiatus.
November 19th, 2008Hi, everybody. I only have a few minutes, but I wanted to take a moment to address three things that are going on right now:
First…as you may know, I’m moving to Chicago in a few days. I was hoping to somehow find the time (sleep? what’s that?) to get a couple of updates done so that there would be no downtime or interruptions while I’m moving. Sadly, I’m just not that together right now. Between closing out multiple projects at work and at home, planning, budgeting, packing, running errands, and the like, I’m absurdly preoccupied.
I’ve decided that I need to spend some time in my last few days here in Missouri enjoying my friends and family while I can - in less than two weeks it’ll take a vacation for me to see them. This is…hard. These people are the most important human beings in my life, and I won’t see some of them for months at least. So I’m going to do something I didn’t want to: I’m putting HEX’D updates on hiatus for this week and next. I’m planning on having an update hit during the first week of December, so between now and then don’t look for an update - it won’t be here.
Second, I’ll be spending some time after the move fiddling with site settings and whatnot - hopefully we’ll have a working comments system by December 10th.
Third, big CONGRATS to Josh - he and his lovely wife Gwendolyn are currently moving into their new home, a lovely brick house in Saint Louis with official Munsters-style staircase/trapdoor to the basement! Enjoy the new digs, dude!
Anyway, that’s it. I’ll see all of you in December, when I’ll be posting from a new zip code. Have a happy Thanksgiving, and make the most of your time with your friends and family - the really important things in life aren’t things, they’re people!
